What is Colocation?

Posted on: January 15th, 2014 by VeloxServ

Colocation (collocation or co-location) is the act of placing single or multiple servers, usually a Web or email server, located at a dedicated hosting facility designed with resources which include a secured cage or cabinet, regulated power, dedicated Internet connection, security and support.

Our Datacentres are equipped with Resilient 2N UPS’ (Battery Backup), Diesel Generators, Fire Protection and Resilient Internet Connectivity protecting us from a number of disasters.

Using colocation services is a cost-effective way to obtain business continuity, scalability and minimal network latency at a fraction of the cost it takes to accomplish the same things in your own office building or a private datacentre. When choosing our colocation services we let you maintain complete control over your physical servers.
